White River State Park is the heart of Indianapolis. This urban park is very large and offers many activities to do. It connects the Indianapolis Zoo with several museums in the city. It also features seasonal activities such as pedal boat rides, kayaking, cycling, among others. If you have children, we recommend visiting the Indianapolis Colts Canal Playspace, which is a free playground.
This is the place where we recommend parking. There are many options, but this is the best one for exploring the top attractions.
ParkingWe recommend using the restrooms before any activity, especially if you are bringing children. The restroom is located inside the Museum.
RestroomsThe Waterfront Pavilion offers a beautiful view of the river with the city in the background. It is next to the zoo, and you can walk along the trail behind the zoo known as Central White River.
To PavilionThe path between the Pavilion and The Rocks has some of the best views of the city of Indianapolis. The Rocks is a very popular place for outdoor activities, and even live music.
To The StonesTo reach the Medal of Honor Memorial, you need to walk on the left side of the canal. If you accidentally take the wrong path, you can cross the bridge next to the fountain.
To MemorialThe Indianapolis Colts playground is somewhat farther away, but it is worth it if you have children or enjoy walking.
